Set Up Documentation

Follow this step by step guide to get the basics set up and ready to go.

 

General Settings

Business info

Start by entering your general business settings. This includes Name address, website if you have one, Phone, Email, etc.

Go to 

  • Settings
  • business info
  • Enter your shop info

Logos

Customize the software by uploading your shop logo, Favicon, and Best seller Image.

Go to 

  • Settings
  • Logos and Images
  • Click the Blue banner Titled Logo and upload your logo (it is best to save your logo in .svg format) if you are exporting as a jpeg or png, The height of the logo should not exceed 50px
  • favicon should also be .svg if possible, or the file should be smaller than 2 MB
  • Best Seller should be a transparent png file no smaller than 50px and no larger than 150 px

API Info Settings

Payment Processors

If you are a cash-only shop you can skip this but if you want to collect payment from customers by credit card you need to have or create an account with Stripe or Square and connect that account to the software.

Go to 

  • Settings
  • API Info Setting
  • Click Payment Processors
  • Select Stripe or Squarespace from the dropdown.
  • Click the connect button and follow the steps.
  • You are now connected and ready to process credit cards through the software.

Shipping with EasyPost

If you want to create labels directly from the software, You will need an account with Easypost.

Click to Visit Easypost.com

After you create an account with EasyPost Do the following

From the Easypost Dashboard

  • Select Account Settings from the left menu
  •  Select API Keys From the tabs at the top of the page
  • Make sure your Production API key is set to active
  • Copy your Production API Key.

On The Print Life dashboard.

  • Select Settings from the left menu
  • Select EasyPost
  • Check the Enable EasyPost Keys Box
  • Paste your API Key in the field.
  • Hit Save

You can now generate labels from EasyPost using USPS
If you need to use other shipping providers Like UPS, FedEx, DHL, etc. You will need to connect your account with those providers to EasyPost.

Supplier Catalouges

SS Active Wear. You dont need to input any info into S&S Activewear. The Print Life software pulls the base wholesale price from S&S Active Wears API. You don’t need to do anything else.

Email

SMTP Email Settings

Simplifying your life starts with the ability to email production notifications from the software.

For GMAIL, WORKSPACES, Office 365 and OUTLOOK Email accounts

If you have a workspace or outlook account set up through your host, Godaddy, Square Space, etc. You won’t be able to connect that account. Create a new account with Google Workspaces or Office 365 outside of your host.

Go to 

  • Settings
  • Mail
  • Click SMTP Email Setting
  • Connect your Gmail, Workspace, or Outlook account with the click of a button.
  • Make sure to enter you email address in the from email field

If you are using an arbitrary email account like FireBird you can make a manual connection

Go to

  • Settings
  • Mail
  • Click SMTP Email Setting
  • Click Manual Connection.

  • The hostname will look like this: smtp.firebird.com
  • authentication: Yes
  • Email Address: Your company email address
  • App Password: You will need to contact your email provider or google on how to generate an app password for your particular email client. Some clients don’t offer an app password in which case you might want to consider signing up for a Google Workspace email account.
